wire flower present for my friend who is having a bad time

Two tulips made from beads and wire. The left tulip is pink
with a light green stem, and the one on the right is red with a dark green stem.

a friend of mine has been having a rough couple weeks, so I am going to sneak a wee present into her bag when I next see her. I've had some wire and tiny beads lying around from previous projects (successful crochet flowers and unsuccessful crochet jewelry, respectively) and so I thought I could try my hand at making a little beaded flower bouquet, maybe attach it to a key ring. unfortunately, the wire was too thick for the bore of the beads I have, and so I struggled to make more complex designs, and honestly I was fighting the materials. I was able to make these kind of tulip-y flowers, but it was a bit of a struggle. they're still kinda cute, but they're not something I want to gift to my friend.

I still want to explore this kind of wire/bead work, so I'll keep these and hopefully be able to repurpose them later. maybe they can become part of a brooch.
in the meantime, I'm just going to get my friend a little self-care goodie bag instead :)

the tutorial I was attempting to follow can be found here.
